Mitchell Lane, Glasgow
Tucked away on Glasgow’s iconic Mitchell Lane, Bar Soba brings a burst of pan-Asian energy to the city’s bar and restaurant scene. Known for its bold street food and inventive cocktails, the brand has become a byword for vibrant flavour and fearless creativity — qualities that inspired every detail of this 200-capacity bar and restaurant. Scarinish were responsible for the design of Glasgows West End, Merchant City and Mitchell Lane sites, along with various
sites throughout the UK.
The design celebrates contrast and character. Inside, raw industrial textures meet layered warmth and colour. Whitewashed concrete soffits, industrial brick, galvanised steel services and poured cement floors form the backdrop for lush planting, reclaimed furniture and expressive lighting. Corrugated metal panels sprayed with anime-inspired graffiti bring the brand’s rebellious spirit to life.
Touches of simple white tiling, premium spirits cabinets and intimate black downlighting nod to the night markets of South Asia — the beating heart of Bar Soba’s inspiration.
The result is an environment that feels both urban and inviting, energetic yet grounded, perfectly mirroring the brand’s enduring appeal.
