The vision for Sanam was to craft an immersive restaurant experience where every detail—from service and menu to design and ambience—worked together to tell a cohesive brand story. Leading the creative direction across all touchpoints, the studio developed a space that feels subtly exotic yet unmistakably contemporary.
The entrance welcomes guests with fluted timber screens and obscure glazing, a striking terrazzo bar, hand-painted floor tiles, and refined brass detailing. In the dining hall, handmade brass chandeliers cast a warm glow over walls finished in subtle polished plaster, accented with antique mirrors set within lacquered panelling. A gallery of family portraits, designed by the studio, is thoughtfully displayed within custom bookcase shelving, adding a personal and nostalgic touch.
Sanam evokes the very essence of 1940s Bombay, celebrating the understated elegance of India’s everyday beauty. Warm textures, thoughtful detailing, and layered materials create a welcoming and refined environment, establishing Sanam as a fresh, modern dining destination.
